Presentation of the study “ESG audit of office portfolios: where is the potential in the German market? “

On 19 March bulwiengesa, Berlin Hyp AG and Baumann Consulting presented their study “ESG audit of office portfolios: where is the potential in the German market?”. Our COO, Mathias Gross, was invited to speak on a panel with Sven Carstensen, Sascha Klaus and Heiko Muschiolik about the refurbishment and investment requirements for existing properties and the associated challenges.

Since commercial properties are responsible for around 47% of CO2-emissions from existing buildings, the refurbishment of office stock is a critical factor in achieving Germany’s climate targets.

During the webinar with more than 500 participants it became clear that:

-the level of energy-related ancillary costs will continue to gain in importance for successful lease agreements.

-an increasing number of tenants are also prepared to pay more for energy-efficient, sustainable office space.

-a modern urban energy infrastructure is a key prerequisite for the climate-neutral operation of existing buildings.
